"Venice 3021" gives a completely new image of Venice: a journey into the minds of those who lived, live and will live the city.

The movie is a tribute to the 1600 years of Venice: through a corpus of over 1000 images including paintings, photographs and film clips, all made available to the Ca’Foscari University, we paid tribute to the long history of the city with a film production that combines the language of art with technological innovation.

The video installation “Venice 3021” gives a completely new image of Venice: a journey into the minds of those who lived, live and will live the city through the countless artistic languages – from painting to photography, from cinema, to computer graphics – which have tried to grasp the soul of Venice.

To celebrate the tenth edition of Art Night Venezia, held on Saturday October 2nd, 2021 – date chosen to coincide with the famous Nuit Blanche in Paris – the Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, creator and promoter of the event in collaboration with the Municipality of Venice, opened the night of Venetian art with an exceptional event created by Vitruvio Virtual Reality.

In the courtyard of Ca ‘Foscari, starting at 7.30 pm, the video installation “Venice 3021” was screened, based on an idea by Silvia Burini, Scientific Director of Art Night, created by Vitruvio Virtual Reality.

“[…] water equals time and provides beauty with its double. Part water, we serve beauty in the same fashion. By rubbing water, this city improves time’s looks, beautifies the future.”
